Welcome to year nine of this annual season long event made up of two person teams. Registration for this limited space event will open at
12:00 pm on Tuesday February 24th on a first come first serve basis.
You can register in any region but you are committing to playing your matches in that area unless mutually agreed upon by the other team.
The matches are handicapped best ball & is open to current Members only.
New for this year will be a round robin before match play begins. You will have from April 1st to June 30th to play your three matches. We strongly encourage planning dates and locations for the round robin matches ASAP, all three can be scheduled as soon as the pairings are published at the Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids on March 10th.
There will be one point per hole available for all 18 holes. The team with the highest total points will advance to the traditional match play bracket. There will be no consolation bracket.
You must have an active GHIN handicap to participate. You can register for a GHIN number at the links below:
USGA/GAM Club Renewal - $50 (Select state and zip code, type in GHIN, complete registration)
GAM OJR Renewal - $45 (Select any home club, type in GHIN # to complete payment process, you do not need to be a member at any of the listed clubs)
All match scores must be submitted to your GHIN handicap within 24 hours of completing all 18 holes. Failure to submit your score as a competition score could disqualify you from the next match and/or future events.
All teams who make it to the final four will be subject to a handicap adjustment for the following year on this scale: 0-9 = 1 stroke, 10-20 = 2 strokes, More than 20 = 3 strokes. The winners of the Championship will be subject to an additional stroke adjustment on the same scale.
Any and all disputes will be decided by the Handicap & Rules Committee & if needed the MiGCSA Board of Directors. All decisions are final. USGA Rules apply to all matches.
The spirit of this event is to meet new members at a neutral site on your own pace while having friendly competition and comradery.
The winning team members will each receive an engraved crystal bowl trophy along with MiGCSA Champion belts from Next Belt. All final four teams will get a custom bag tag.
